With the rapid development of shipbuilding technology and the changes in market demand, the tonnage of ships being built is getting larger and larger. The general strength grade A/B grade steel plate can no longer meet the needs of users and the market. Therefore, DH/EH grades are used in ship construction. There are more and more high-strength steels.
The high-efficiency welding process of 49mm marine large-thickness EH36 steel plate exceeds the maximum welding thickness of 38mm by the FCB method. Usually, only single-wire submerged arc welding (SAW) double-sided welding can be used. This method cannot effectively use the FCB method of the flat workshop assembly line. The advantages of plate, longitudinal bone installation and 16-electrode high-speed welding station result in low production efficiency of EH36 steel plate.
In order to make full use of the advantages of FCB welding assembly line operation and improve production efficiency, the existing FCB process is innovatively upgraded, and the feasibility of the FCB + SAW hybrid welding process for 49mm thickness EH36 steel plate is studied.
