Bulb flat steel is a kind of special section steel, composed of flat webs and spherical ball heads, and is an asymmetric section steel. Bulb flat steel is mainly used for shipbuilding and bridge building. However, with the rapid development of the shipbuilding industry in recent years, bulb flat steel has gradually become a special name for marine bulb flat steel. It is the most important type of shipbuilding steel and is mainly used as ship plate reinforcing ribs.
The current domestic standard for bulb flat steel is GB/T9945-2001 "Hot-rolled Bulb flat steel", and non-equivalent adopts the European standard EN10067: 1996 "Hot-rolled bulb flat steel". The specifications are consistent with the European standard, but modified The tolerance range of the European standard has been increased, and the material and other regulations have been added.
The ship shape design of my country's shipbuilding industry tends to adopt bulb flat steel, while Japan and South Korea tend to adopt marine angle steel (equal-sided angle steel, unequal-sided angle steel and unequal-sided unequal-thickness angle steel).
