CCS grade A is a class of ship plate. Q235 grade A is one of the common carbon structural steels. CCS grade A shipbuilding steel plate is hot-rolled steel plate which is produced according to the requirements of classification society's construction specification.
The general strength structural steel in CCS grade A shipbuilding steel plate code standard is divided into four quality grades: A, B, D and E (namely CCSA, CCSB, CCSC, CCSD);
Q235 grade A represents the yield of this material, and the following 235 means that the yield value of this material is about 235.
On the other hand, there are many kinds of CCS grade A shipbuilding steel plate, such as A32, A36, a40, A420, A460, A500, etc., and Q235 grade A steel plate itself represents the brand of a steel grade.
Q235 is divided into four grades: A, B, C and D (GB / T 700-2006). The chemical composition of Q235 A is C ≤0.22%, Mn≤1.4%, Si≤0.35%, S≤0.050, P≤0.045.
There are many CCS grade A shipbuilding steel plate, which are also CCS grade A, but A32 and A36 are different, and A32, A36 and A40 are different. Take A32 as an example, A32 yield point is not less than 315, tensile strength(MPA) 440-570, elongation % 22, chemical composition is C≤0.18, Mn≥0.9-1.60, Si≤0.50, S≤0.035, P≤0.035.
Therefore, CCS grade A shipbuilding steel plate and Q235 grade A are not the same concept, and there is a big difference between them.
