In order to evaluate the low temperature toughness of the KR AH32 steel plate, an impact test was carried out on the notched style, and the impact value Akv of the notched style was used to express the toughness.
The factors that affect the low temperature toughness of KR AH32 steel plate are:
1) When the carbon content is high, the hardenability transition temperature of the KR AH32 steel plate rises sharply, and the impact toughness decreases overall, so the carbon content is often limited to less than 0.2%. In addition, increasing the content of alloying elements Mn and Ni can improve the low temperature toughness of KR AH32 steel plate.
2) The effect of deoxidation method and grain on the low-temperature brittleness of KR AH32 steel plate: In addition to containing more oxygen and nitrogen, it is mainly because the killed steel is aluminum deoxidized and the grain is finer: especially a small amount is added to the KR AH32 steel plate. After the Nb v Ti and other elements, the grains are further refined, so that the KR AH32 steel plate has better low temperature toughness.
3) Controlled rolling and controlled cooling of KR AH32 steel plate improves low-temperature toughness compared with general rolling.
