Welding preheating temperature of EH36 steel plate

The types and specifications of shipbuilding steel plate, hull structural steel according to its yield point divided into strength grade: general strength structural steel and high strength structural steel. The general strength structural steel according to CCS standards is divided into four quality grades: A, B, D and E.

Preheat temperature of EH36 steel plate welding: because EH36 steel plate has high rigidity and hardening tendency, the preheat temperature is 80 ℃ ~ 90 ℃ according to the regulations of Lloyd's register of shipping. However, considering the impact temperature of EH36 steel plate, the preheat temperature selected in the test is 100 ℃ ~ 110 ℃ C, and the interlayer temperature is not lower than the preheat temperature.

EH36 steel plate welding requirements:
1. As the welding quality of EH36 steel plate depends on the operation level of welders to a certain extent, class III welders with good welding technology are selected for welding.
2. The welding is multi-layer and multi pass welding. The welding slag and spatter between layers should be completely removed, especially the backing and filling of the weld bead. The slag inclusion and other defects are easily caused due to poor forming. Therefore, it is required that the weld bead should be smooth and flattened as far as possible.
