ASTM A131 Grade AH36 steel is a kind of hot rolled high tensile strength shipbuilding steel. Higher strength shipbuilding steel products —Grades AH, DH, EH, and FH are with a specified minimum yield point of 46 ksi [315 MPa], 51 ksi [350 MPa], or 57 ksi [390 MPa]. The 36 grades have yield strength of 51,000 psi (355 MPa), and ultimate tensile strength of 71,000 - 90,000 psi (490-620 MPa).
ASTM A131 Grade AH36 steel plates are almost exclusively used in the Shipbuilding Industry for the construction of structural parts of ships, barges and marine equipment. A131 AH36 shipbuilding steel plates also can be used for ship repairing, the offshore oil drilling platform, the platform pipe joints and other components.
